Mountain to Sea Hike: A Celebration of MtA2C’s 15th Anniversary

October 11, 2017

We had a wonderful time leading about 20 folks on a half-day guided hike last weekend on in the Mt. Agamenticus region, with great weather and beautiful foliage. The hike was over mostly wooded trails and we encountered old cellar holes and graveyards and a section of old growth forest in the horse hills region. Thanks to all who joined us!

This Mountain to Sea Hike was part of a weekend-long series of hikes celebrating the Mt. Agamenticus to the Sea Conservation Initiative’s (MtA2C) 15th anniversary. York Land Trust is one of 10 groups working with MtA2C to preserve land stretching from the Tatnic Hills in Wells to the rocky coast in Kittery. With a long-term goal of connecting 19,000 acres of conserved land, the region already boasts more than 13,800 acres of open space including more than 80 conservation projects completed by MtA2C partners. Check out www.mta2c.org to learn more about MtA2C’s efforts.
