Join an experienced sugarmaker from Porcupine Hill Maple Syrup for demonstrations, tasting, and discussion on all aspects of making maple syrup, including how you can do it in your own backyard with just a few trees. Learn about identifying and tapping trees, collecting and boiling sap, and more. This program is free and open to the public with registration. It will begin at York Land Trust with a weather-dependent second part at a local sugarhouse. Sign up here.
Weather-depending, join the sugarmakers at a local sugarhouse following the presentation to look at their maple collection system and live boil. Porcupine Hill Maple Syrup has been making maple syrup since 2015 on their family land. Recent leases with York Land Trust and abutting landowners have allowed for an increase in production and a business expansion. Look for their products in Eldredge Lumber & Hardware!
