In winter, the beautiful support structures of nature take center stage, and the woods and gardens are dominated by seed pods, dried flower heads, and cones that are usually obscured by vegetation. In this workshop by Master Naturalist and local artist Allison Donohue, you’ll learn scientific illustration techniques to draw a variety of natural objects in pencil and ink, and learn about the important role these items play in the winter world. This workshop is for all levels and very beginner friendly. Make sure you wear a shirt you don’t mind getting a little ink on!
Allison Donohue is an artist, teacher, and Maine Master Naturalist volunteer. She is particularly interested in river corridors, estuaries, and oceans, and is passionate about connecting people to the natural world through art.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
