YLT hosted a great winter wildlife tracking event last Saturday at Highland Farm Preserve. Expert trackers from White Pine Programs led a group of 15 adults and children and found the tracks of red and gray foxes, deer, porcupines, voles, squirrels and interpreted what the tracks meant. Were they predator or prey? Were they walking or running? Who lives in the old stone wall and who sleeps in a big nest of leaves high in a tree?
