Mount Agamenticus to the York River is a critical Maine natural area and home to a great diversity of plants and animals. To learn what makes this landscape so special, the public is invited on a free guided hike from the summit of Mt. Agamenticus to Highland Farm Preserve. York Land Trust has partnered with the Mount Agamenticus Conservation Program, York Water District, and Kittery Water District to offer this outing!
There is no minimum age requirement for this excursion, but prior hiking experience is highly recommended. This moderately difficult trek will be approximately five miles and cover a variety of terrain, including both uphill and downhill sections. Hikers should bring at least 2 liters of water, snacks, and lunch. Dress in layers and for protection from weather and insects. Hiking poles are recommended but not required. No dogs, please. Register here.
We will meet at 9:00am at the Highland Farm Preserve parking lot. We will then shuttle to Mt. A and begin our hike from there. We expect to reach our cars at or before 2:00pm.
